The Big Landscape 2026 - Group Exhibition

The Big Landscape brings together 17 contemporary artists whose practices expand and reimagine what “landscape” can be today. Featuring works by Mishka Ammann, Janet Ayliffe, Rod Bax, Gemma Rose Brook, Sally Deans, Siv Grava, Audrey Harnett, Jud Keresztesi, Christine Lawrence, Sarah McDonald, Craig Penny, Sophie Perez, Suzie Riley, Harry Sherwin, Chris Summer, Peter Watts, and Diana Wiseman, the exhibition moves across place, memory, abstraction, and environment. From intimate terrains to expansive visions, The Big Landscape invites viewers to experience landscape as both a physical and imaginative space.

Mishka Ammann is a Kangaroo Island–based landscape artist whose expressive oil paintings capture the changing moods, colour, and atmosphere of the Australian landscape, informed by decades of observation and exhibition experience.

Janet Ayliffe is an Adelaide Hills–based artist whose intricate etchings draw on memory, family, and the landscapes of both Kangaroo Island and her surroundings, combining layered techniques with a deep sense of wonder for the natural world.
