about
The Thylacine or Tasmanian Tiger officially became extinct over 75 years ago. There have been many siting’s of Thylacines since then, although no indisputable evidence has been found, or has it? Tasmanians have heard many stories about human encounters with these mysterious animals.
Even a story about one being trapped years ago, when trapping was something people did to help them through the Great Depression and after WW2. Actually, this story happened during the 1970’s when trapping became illegal. The story goes that the Thylacine was disposed of in case the authorities heard about what had transpired!
Who knows?
This Thylacine is slip cast, fired to 1280oC, and then hand finished with onglaze features. It is made from porcelaineous stoneware which makes it very durable.
“Over seventy years we’ve asked, are Thylacines still out there at large?
Pacing the boundaries of human existence,
being seen by more than one ‘idiot’, so branded by many unable to believe,
that the Tiger could be clever enough to evade,
a vehicle, bullet, trap or snapshot, maybe they have and maybe not?”
