about
When Pigs Fly explores infinite breadth of childhood hope juxtaposed with the rigidity of adult disillusionment. I often think back on all I thought possible as a child and consider these hopes and dreams in stark contrast to the realities and challenges adult life has afforded me. As a child I was yet to comprehend the impact that mental illness, complex trauma and chronic illness would have on my life nor understand the ways in which I would need to adjust my expectations, plans and aspirations around them. While healing is a daily goal and hope I actively work toward, perhaps being fully healed is what feels beyond my reach, akin to a daydream of blissfully flying through the clouds, weightless and free. A hope that maybe will one day become a reality, when pigs too fly.
