Mark Judd lives and works in Adelaide. His work has been influenced by the photorealist movement which came into the forefront in the 1970s. He is a self-taught artist who has developed his own individual technique and idiosyncratic style. His pieces are visually stimulating due to his ability to use bold colours, successfully creating emotive and memorable depictions of the subjects which he chooses to represent.
Judd has been painting seriously for over 10 years and his subject matter varies from realistic seascapes, urban landscapes and shop mannequins to surrealism and fictional gnomes! Although his subjects may vary greatly his technique and media are consistent, using vibrant oil colours, confident brush strokes and compelling compositions.
Judd has won numerous awards and commendations in Adelaide and Country Arts and been a finalist in the 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008 Fleurieu Biennales. His work was showcased in a solo exhibition at Art Images Gallery in 2014, as well as in various group exhibitions over the years.
