Quentin Gore was born in 1961 in Adelaide, South Australia. He graduated in 1985 from the South Australian College of Advanced Education with a Bachelor of Industrial Design. Quentin worked for 40 years as an industrial designer and in 2017 was awarded a Fellowship of the Design Institute of Australia. In 2020, after many years of part-time study, he completed an Associate Degree in Visual Art at Adelaide Central School of Art.
Quentin now works full-time as a professional artist. His background in design strongly informs his artistic practice, bringing a considered, structural approach to his sculpture.
Based in the Adelaide Hills, Quentin maintains a hands-on studio practice and has exhibited sculpture regularly over the past two decades. His work is inspired by forms and patterns found in nature and, where possible, incorporates found or recycled materials, particularly timber, metal, and stone. Quentin has a strong commitment to environmental protection and conservation and is an active volunteer with the Nature Foundation.
