Mark Judd lives and works in Adelaide. He is a self-taught artist who has developed his own individual technique and idiosyncratic style.
He enjoys expressing himself through both sculpture and painting.
Although not bound by any particular subject or genre, he enjoys exploring realism with an abstract or playful twist. His sculptures generally use materials such as bronze, copper and wood to achieve pieces that are steampunk, realistic or fanciful in nature.
The photorealist movement which came into the forefront in the 1970s has influenced Mark’s paintings. His works are visually stimulating due to his ability to use bold colours, successfully creating emotive and memorable depictions of the subjects which he chooses to represent.
Mark has been painting seriously for over 20 years and his subject matter varies from realistic seascapes, urban landscapes, shop window reflections to surrealism and fictional gnomes.
Mark Judd has won numerous awards and commendations in Adelaide and Country Arts competitions and been a finalist in several Fleurieu Biennales and in the Waterhouse Natural Science Prize. His work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions at Art Images Gallery.
