Jane Sabey

I work from my studio in the beautiful Adelaide Hills and have been involved in the ceramic industry for many years. I find clay a wonderful medium for self-expression as it offers such a unique scope for creating form. I enjoy experimenting with clay bodies, glaze finishes, and firing techniques, which allows me to produce such a diverse range of work in both functional ware and sculptural forms.

The natural environment, the human form and sometimes humor in the form of being fun and quirky have all been constant influences in my work. Each ceramic piece is hand made with time spent developing the unique character and individuality to each piece.

My work is represented in both private and corporate collections in both Australia and overseas. I have exhibited in solo and group exhibitions and have been successful in winning awards for my work, including a high commendation for the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize
