Beth has been painting for around 10 years, being able to pursue a lifelong interest in art following retirement from a fulfilling career in the field of vocational rehabilitation. She joined a local painting group in Port Lincoln who shared their knowledge in all things painting and encouraged acquisition of skills.
Beth is interested in all genres but has a particular love of painting the local Eyre Peninsula landscape and bushland. She loves the experience of being immersed in the bush and then translating this on to a canvas.
Beth has been part of a number of group exhibitions and has had 2 successful solo exhibitions. The most recent one was as the Feature artist of the SALT Festival 2024. She has won the Port Lincoln Art Prize on 2 occasions.
Having lived in the rural community of Port Lincoln for nearly 40 years, she has strong links to the local arts community and is often involved in presenting painting workshops and activities that foster an interest and love of painting.
The current works were in response to a painting trip to Mount Wudinna and from painting regularly at the local Brinkworth nature reserve on the outskirts of Port Lincoln.
