Amanda Westley is a Ngarrindjeri artist born in Victor Harbor, South Australia. Her exhibition Nganawi Ruwi (My Country) reflects a deep and enduring connection to land, family, and coastal country. Raised between farm life and the ocean, with a boatbuilder father, Westley’s lived experience of water, shoreline, and rural landscape continues to shape both her identity and her practice.

Working in contemporary Aboriginal dot painting, Westley translates Ngarrindjeri Country through vibrant fields of colour, echoing the rhythms of her coastal home. Her paintings speak to Country as a living, spiritual presence, honouring her family’s long-standing connection to the south coast and expressing the calm, continuity, and cultural strength found within it.
