This was initially created to be an urn... it can function as such if you wish to put ashes inside and seal the lid with a little silicon. But it can just as easily function as a vase for flowers, or stand alone as a purely sculptural piece.
A novel kintsugi approach has been employed here, using gold lustre circles to highlight tiny surface cracks that appeared after firing, with extra gold leaf applied to further disguise/enhance these tiny flaws.
The tiny cracks in no way affect this vessels functionality, but they did enhance its personality.
