This small series of Autumnal landscapes have been inspired by my many Plein Air painting days up in the beloved Adelaide Hills. Some mornings the fog was so thick and my hands were almost too numb to paint, however the beauty of the vibrant Autumn foliage bursting through the fog was something I just had to capture.
In these paintings, I capture the majestic beauty of an Autumn tree bathed in the season's warm hues. Using a palette knife technique, I emphasise texture and movement, creating a vivid and dynamic portrayal of the golden foliage. Each stroke is intentional, layering vibrant yellows, oranges, and hints of red, evoking the tree's natural splendour. The interplay of light and shadow enhances its depth, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the serene yet powerful essence of Autumn.
