In this collection of oil paintings, I explore the interplay of light and landscape, capturing the fleeting beauty of hills and forests as they transform under the changing skies. Each scene reflects a moment of connection to the natural world, where light becomes the storyteller, illuminating, obscuring, and revealing the quiet drama and poetry of the land. Painting en plein air in the Adelaide Hills allows me to immerse myself in the shifting light, vibrant colours, and atmospheric moods of the landscape. Directly observing the interplay of light and form deepened my connection to the terrain, influencing the works in this exhibition. These paintings capture not just the visual essence of the hills but also the fleeting moments of luminosity and energy that define the experience of being present in the landscape.
