The Noisy Miner is such a familiar backyard bird in Australia, but having grown up somewhere else, it still feels slightly exotic to me. I wanted to hold onto that sense of familiarity and strangeness, placing the bird within a garden that is partly observed and partly imagined.

Framing

This artwork is currently framed with an off-white mat, in an natural oak frame.
