Daniel Ross aka Moth Art is a South Australian self-taught artist who has been practicing on and off for 30 years. He resides in the tiny coastal town of Elliston on the West Coast of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.
Daily life for Daniel revolves around this rugged coastline - surfing or swimming (while taking reference photo’s) in the powerful waves of the Southern Ocean, daily beach walks and a cold plunge in a calmer corner, or spending time at the beach with his daughters and showing them all it has to offer.
Daniel works in oils and acrylics when creating his realistic paintings of coastal and ocean scenes, and then switches to Posca paint pens for a bit more of a light-hearted art process. He also leads workshops, predominantly teaching children in this fun and versatile medium defined as ‘surfboard art’.
