Olivia Dryden

Olivia Dryden is an Adelaide-based artist and jeweller. She describes her work as a 'modern take on taxidermy jewellery'.

Working with sterling silver castings, Olivia reutilises deceased animals and birds for their bones, seeing these unlikely objects as beautiful in their own right. She forms these objects into wearable pieces, combining them with flora, pearls and gemstones, which are more commonly perceived as beautiful by society‚Äôs standards.

Through this juxtaposition, Olivia explores the notion of mortality and the natural, lasting beauty that can be found in objects that are often feared or stigmatised.

After years of experimenting and completing courses in London, Olivia's skills in the art of taxidermy inspired her to create small, wearable works of art that can be valued and appreciated by all.
