There are three parts to this piece…
The sculpture is based on the woodcut of an Indian rhino by Albrecht Durer, the decoration is in the style of medieval illuminated manuscripts, the method of transcribing information before printing and the text is taken from my travel journals.
All three represent an attempt to record something for posterity spanning several centuries.
