I am a South Australian jewellery maker and designer known for my distinctive geometric style that incorporates asymmetric components, precious gemstones and pearls. Simultaneously I have worked as the Production Manager at the JamFactory in its Metal Studio where I oversea product and commission design and fabrication.
I aim to create work that the wearer will reach for regularly as part of their daily ritual, forming part of their life and memories. Durability and wearability are essential to my works resulting in meticulously handcrafted pieces that will last a lifetime. While exploring the complex history of jewellery through using ancient skills rooted in craftsmanship I hope to create playfully refined pieces that uplift and embolden the wearer.
I enjoy the exploration of binary oppositions such as the feminine and masculine, organic and industrial or strong geometry and soft shapes, often through the use of varied materials and surface finishes to create juxtapositions. I work in collections, rather than individual pieces as this allows me to wholly explore a topic or concept and I find the works then speak to one another as a unified family. While small in scale jewellery can be powerful, symbolic and hold large and significant meaning. I hope my pieces can act as thoughtfully created, meaningful tributes in peoples’ lives.
